I am a bit gushy in love with this City, I have to say. Now, my only son is here, so that certainly weighs in but there is so much in addition to that.
There is an understated kindness here, and such beauty everywhere. From the beautiful parks, amazing shopping, and yes, incredible food, to the stunning architecture and unbelievable Museums, every area explored adds to the charm.

Today I spent the afternoon at the Victoria & Albert Museum, the design Museum here. I walked through Hyde Park to get there, so peaceful, perfect that you can find such beauty and quiet in the middle of a busting city. I love eating in Museum Cafes and shopping in the Museum Stores, so I did both as well today. The Café had a piano player and the room itself was incredibly beautiful, old world décor but with modern Arne Jacobsen chairs, I’m pretty sure I recognized both the Ant and Series 7 chairs there. The shops were mostly books, this is England, but I found cute bracelets and postcards as well. The Ceramics collection on the 6th floor was stunning, huge, endless. Pottery from all over the world from thousands of years ago to the present, and a working studio with Artist In Residence to peek in on.

It’s also so easy to just pop in somewhere for a coffee or a glass of wine, or a bite to eat. I don’t know why certain places feel the way they do, but I am so comfortable here, I love setting out for the day, knowing there will be great things to see and do.

I wandered through Covent Garden a couple of days ago also, so pretty and charming. I found a small shop with Iberico Ham sandwiches, nice snack for walking with while I window shopped. Just another day and a half here, I’ll fit in as much as I can.
