Jazz Naps in Paris

Having a beautiful couple of days in Paris, in a sweet little room at Amour Hotel in the South Pigalle. The courtyard view is lovely and sounds of the café below filter up with some jazz on the radio while I nap. I’ve never really explored this area, the Pigalle, Opera and Montmartre, so I’m staying on this side for this trip, and walking like crazy.
I love walking here, just setting out I know there will be great window shopping, people watching and incredible food along the way. The Avenue of the Martyrs is close to my hotel and doesn’t disappoint. A sushi shop named after my brother, grocers of all kinds, cheese shops, cafes, boutiques, everything really. Yesterday I wandered down to Jardin des Tuileries and sat for a while, today back down to the Musée de L’Orangerie to bask in the glow of the Monets, Manets, some great Modigiani’s and a sweet Giacometti bust. More wandering in the light rain and another jazz nap in my room. Tonight, I’ll meet a friend of a friend for dinner near the Sacre-Cœur. Nice to have some company in this wonderful place.
Tomorrow I head down to Avignon to spend time with lifelong family friends, excited to take the TGV!
